The Egret 16′ 7″ was constructing in wood and developed in the water over an intense 4 month time. The 16′ 7″ outperforms other skiffs up to 19′ in bumpy water and poles like a dream. It floats sideways to the wind like its superior sibling and pivots on its fore foot. The hull, deck and interior liner of the Egret optimize the properties of a variety of foam core materials. Each core application is engineered to perform a specific function. A dense centerline core prevents the boat from point loading on the trailer rollers.

A more resilient core material is used in the hull outboard of the centerline. This core, united with vinylester resins inherent suppleness, creates an exceptionally resilient structure while reducing hull noise to an absolute minimum. The deck coat utilizes another light, but stiff foam core to further help in the reduction of weight demanded by the Egret design team. And lastly, a very dense core is utilized in the transom where the motor mounts make high compression loads.
